Moving the old battery on my own

 

The 24 kWh battery weighs 273 kg. Moving it on my own works like this:

• raise the battery using 4 scissor jacks
• lower it onto my 8-wheeled trolley (two cheap trolleys screwed onto a piece of plywood)
• I used a strap looped through holes in the trolley corners and tied to a short piece of tubing as a handle
• lay plywood (if traversing rough ground). Not needed on smooth concrete.

Easy-peasy.

(I realise this is not a profound insight - I was surprised by how well it worked - especially having a trolley with 8 independently revolving wheels. Again - not so important if you have a hard flat surface.)
